How to Clean a Bathroom Mirror
With the number of things we use the bathroom mirror for, there’s no surprise they get grimy and streaky quickly. Keeping on top of cleaning your bathroom mirror regularly is the best way to keep it sparkling clean and bacteria-free.
Just think, applying make-up, shaving, cleaning your teeth and flossing can cause grime to build up on a mirror, not to mention the steam build-up from showers and baths. These can all take a toll on your bathroom mirror.

Here’s what you need:
- A mixture of 1-part white vinegar and 1 part water in a spray bottle
- Rubber gloves
- A soft cloth or a special glass cleaning cloth
- Shower squeegee
- A bottle of rubbing alcohol and some cotton wool pads
You’ll want to start from the top, spraying your vinegar and water mix as you go along rather than spraying the entire mirror, to begin with. Fold the cloth into a flat even quarter and work your way down the glass from side to side. Make sure you’re covering the entire area when wiping but try not to wipe up in a circular motion as this can cause a streaky appearance.
When you view the mirror from straight on it's hard to see if there are any streaks left on the mirror but standing at a different angle can help. Stand at a 45-degree angle to the mirror ensuring there’s enough light in the room to be absolutely sure that all the streaks and marks on your mirror are gone.
Much like glass on a shower screen or enclosure, you can also use a shower squeegee to remove any excess water or steam from your bathroom mirror. After a steamy shower when you wipe down your shower glass, you can also give your bathroom mirror a quick wipe with your shower squeegee to prevent streaks from appearing in the first place.
Once you've wiped your mirror down simply give it a wipe over with a clean, soft cloth to buff away any remaining streaks and to ensure the mirror is completely dry.
How to remove sticky marks from bathroom mirrors?
To get rid of stains like toothpaste or hairspray, you’ll need to leave them until you’ve finished wiping the entire surface of the mirror. After you’re done get the rubbing alcohol and apply a small amount to a cotton pad. Use the cotton pad to wipe at the stains and you should find they come off with ease.
How to remove tape from a bathroom mirror?
If the tape has been on the glass for a while, then simply peeling it off will be difficult. You also don’t want to start scraping it off with any sharp objects as this could damage the surface of the glass. Instead, you can apply vegetable oil to the tape and leave to soak for a few minutes. This should loosen the tap and allow you to peel it off easily without the use of a knife.
